Goodland Dairy Services is currently resposible for the footcare of over 4,000 cattle, and has many satisfied and long-standing customers. Many of these have told him he has given their animals a new lease of life, literally. One reason so may people invite Paul back is that he is well versed in curative, as well as preventative, cattle foot trimming. Having worked in animal welfare, Paul also has a great deal of sympathy with farmers and understands the real life pressures of the need to comply with welfare restraints.

The Goodland Dairy Service

As a category 1 member of the NACFT, Paul undergoes continual biennial assessment of his cattle foot trimming skills in order to retain this top level status. He is always eager to develop his work by using the most recently evolved working methods and technologies.

Paul can work closely with both vet and nutritionist and, as endorsed by the NACFT, leaves a foot trimming report which can help determine any underlying problems. These foot trimming reports are highly valued by Farm Assurance Schemes.

The Dutch Method - What is it?

The dutch methodThe 'dutch method' of hoof care can be considered the standard modern application for functional cattle foot trimming.

It is a 5-step trimming method developed in Holland around twenty years ago and is considered a much more refined technique than more dated methods.

The modern foot trimming equipment also aids the trimmer's workflow, and allows the whole procedure to be completed more smoothly and with much less stress to the animal. Goodland Dairy Services uses the latest type of upright crush with its own folding gates, and due to its compactness and mobility can be set up quickly and almost anywhere.
