'Curative' trimming is a slightly more tailored approach to standard 'preventative' trimming, and is applied only to cattle which Paul believes would benefit from this method.

The aim of curative trimming is to restore even weight-bearing across all four feet. On many animals, overgrowth occurs in the outer hind claws, forcing uneven weight-bearing and discomfort. Curative trimming is beneficial here, as Paul can remove slightly more from the damaged claw and/or maintain slightly more of the healthy inner claw to encourage and restore normal and even functioning of the foot.

This means that every animal gets the most appropriate footcare relating to its initial foot condition.
